This is a real nice book. It's not a detailed history or biological explanation of butterflies but enough to educate a novice and assure an expert that the author really knows his business. Instead, it's an incredibly interesting and detailed story of several collecting trips the author took during his lifetime of collecting. Having been to many of the regions he visited, his telling of his experiences brought back good memories and I learned about butterflies too. I've just bought his other butterfly book and expect more of the same.
