I explore the connection between my inner life and the outer world. In her book Beauty Muse, Lipsett takes the reader on a lyrical and highly imaginative journey through her original creative process. A long-time artist and environmental educator, Lipsett shares honestly and with significant detail where she has been and what she's discovered along the way. Lipsett experiences painting as an inner/outer adventure, one that brings us both deeper into our relationship with ourselves and wider into our connection with the natural world. At the same time, she offers readers plenty of opportunity and inspiration to explore this landscape for themselves. It is easy to trust her. Although written from the point of view of painting, reading the beautiful blue circles with their encouraging guidelines for investigation, it is easy to translate them into rules for writing, dancing, playing music or any artistic endeavor. The colourful richness of her words and paintings and the generous questions and suggestions for activities engage readers with a wealth of material to support the deepening of their own creative practice.
