Pantry Moth Traps - Set of Three Review

Pantry Moth Traps - Set of Three
Average Reviews:

Have bought several brands of traps and the Pro-Pest Pheronet is the only one that is filling up with moths/controlling them, while the other traps placed side by side aren't catching any. Skip Safer and BioCare traps - not enough sticky area, sticky not strong enough and the bait doesn't work either.

Do you have an infestation of pantry moths? These pantry moth traps are easy to use, non-toxic, and effective. They work through special moth pheromones that attract the male moths and thus disrupt the mating process. Unlike other pantry moth traps we've tried, the triangular shape of this trap means you don't have to witness the moths getting stuck to the trap every time you open your pantry door! These are THE most effective moth traps we've found. To use, take one pantry moth trap out of the plastic sleeve, fold it into a triangular trap and place in infested area. That's it! The pantry moth traps can be hung or can be placed on a shelf. Change out as needed, or up to every two months. Only one trap per room is needed at a time. Each package contains three traps.

These Catchmaster traps work. After first trying to use just a trap or two , I leaned not to skimp on traps if you want quick results. Put a trap in every room, inside each food cabinet, and near exterior doors or other points of entry.
I buy a bundle of 12 or more for our three bedroom house, looking for the best buy at Amazon or at an Internet auction site. The traps are non-toxic and easy to assemble. You may need to wait a few days before seeing results, but you will be impressed by how many moths these trap over time.
Traps in rooms with exterior doors catch the most. I even put a trap in our fireplace because of the air entry from outside. The fireplace trap catches the most - 100+ moths in a couple months.
The traps use pheromone lures, and attract small, grey pantry moths. If you have an infestation, you will need at least one trap per room and one per cabinet with food. Don't neglect food storage areas: A moth in the TV room is annoying; a moth in your cereal is disgusting. I date the traps with a marker so I can quickly spot which traps are the oldest and might need to be thrown out. They seem to work for up to 5 month or so.
In bundles of 12 or more, the cost should be under $2 each including postage. Highly recommended

This Trap will control the Indian Meal Moth, Tobacco Moth, Mediterranean Flour Moth and Rasin Moth. Everybody seems to have these destructive pests at one time or another. Now you finally have a way to keep them in control with a really effective & economical trap.Simply place enclosed pheromone packet (sexual attractant) on designated spot. Fold trap to form a tepee and place in cabinets where moths are seen. Catches adult moths before they lay their eggs. Replace as needed. Birdseed, flour & many other grain products have moth eggs. Please note that these traps are not effective on clothing moths

REVENGE PANTRY MOTH TRAPS 2 PK BOX Review

REVENGE PANTRY MOTH TRAPS 2 PK BOX
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I use these a lot as I do a lot of baking and don't want meal moths in my pantry. I recently had some organic flour that was full of moth larve, and unfortunately, I didn't realise it right away.
I usually get these Revenge traps at a local supplier, but they had run out and since I needed them immediately, I ordered on-line. Let me explain that the traps work by catching moths on the trap's sticky surface; I am not sure if there is bait or not, but in the past, the traps have worked like a charm.
However, these traps, unlike the ones I generally get locally (same brand, packaging, etc.), had a sticky surface, but only about one half to 2/3 of the entire surface was sticky. I recently purchased the traps again locally, and while they are not completely covered like before, they almost are. So I wonder if these particular traps were defective. These were cheaper, but the smaller sticky area leaves much less room for the moths to get snagged on and neccessitates using more traps.
Overall though, I love these traps.

Springstar Glass Pantry Moth Trap With Lure Review

Springstar Glass Pantry Moth Trap With Lure
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
We bought this Springstar "Glass Pantry Moth Trap" from a specialty catalog and have been fairly pleased with how well it works. We had a fairly bad infestation of "Pantry Moths" that we were able to get mostly under control by cleaning out EVERY kitchen and pantry cabinet, hanging up unsightly (but very effective) Safer Brand 05140 The Pantry Pest Trap where guests wouldn't see them, and using this very attractive trap in more visible areas. Here are my observations:
How It Works -
* Add the included lure to a little water and fill up the donut shaped base
* Moths enter the trap through a hole in the bottom of the trap and drown in the water
Pros -
+ Pretty; the cool shape and multicolor glass is very good looking, almost decorative
+ Versital; can be hung using the included handle or set on a flat surface (i.e. windowsill, counter, shelf, etc) because it has feet to raise the bottom
+ Easy to Clean; just remove the cork top and rinse it out in the sink (or outside if you are squeamish :-)
Cons -
- Not a effective as the sticky traps
We use this as moth maintenance now since we no longer have a bad problem, but it is so good looking that we still leave it out.
Recommended! Additional lure can be found here: Glass Moth Trap Replacement Lure 2-pk (don't be fooled by the picture, it is just the lure not the trap)

This is the first time I have tried this brand. I have a moth problem that I haven't been able to get rid of for several years. :(
As soon as I opened the lure for these, moths started swarming. Within 5 minutes, there were a dozen or so moths caught, so this definitely attracts them and traps them.
I am sure, with diligent use, this product will help me rid my home of these relentless pests.

I got two of the Gypsy Moth Traps for the work place which I work at a telescope. These traps did not catch any moths. Not one. So my recommendation is that these are not worth buying. Keep your money, buy a zapper.

Pantry Moth Traps - Set of Two Review

Pantry Moth Traps - Set of Two
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
We've had problems with Indian Meal Moths for three years now, on and off. We have a parrot, and they first arrived in a bag of seed. Despite repeated attempts of thoroughly cleaning out all of my cabinets, throwing out food and spices, keeping the bird's cage clean, changing his food (and keeping it in the freezer), keeping the dog food in a closed container, vacuuming the ceiling multiple times every day, washing down canned goods, moving out appliances and many other attempts to try to finally get rid of these annoying pests, I am at the point of getting insecticides. These traps are great, with reservations. Yes, when you remove them from the package, you are swarmed, depending on how many moths you currently have, but they only attract the male moths. The females are not attracted. They also do nothing for the worms. There are four cycles to these little buggers: egg, larvae (worm), cocoon, and moth. We suck up those nasty worms constantly with the vacuum (don't forget to change the bag or empty the canister). Don't get the wrong idea, it's not like we have a million of them - they come in cycles. We get worms for a few weeks, with minimal moths, and we suck up maybe 10 - 15 worms in the morning then the same amount after work and a few more here and there during the evening. But we make sure none that we see turn into cocoons. Since we still get more moths, they are obviously turning into cocoons somewhere! Then we see just the moths for awhile, sometimes in fairly large numbers, then they tend to dwindle. Then the whole thing starts up again. We don't see any of them in the winter. At that point, I tear the kitchen & dining room apart and clean like mad, getting rid of all of their favorite foods in the cabinets, but somehow, it doesn't seem to matter, because they come back again every year. So if you have them, these traps are great, but if the infestation has recently started just get on top of it really fast. And get rid of their food source so their life cycle is interrupted. If you can do that, you can get rid of them. That's something I haven't been able to do. They like flour, pasta, cereals, cornmeal, spices, dry pet foods, especially bird seed, dried fruits and flowers (including decorative wall hangings), and even rodent bait, among other things. I have to go online and order more of these pheromone traps now, but I have also decided, reluctantly, after doing some research, to purchase an insect growth regulator (hydroprene - to take care of the worms) and an insecticide (esfenvalerate - for the egg stage). I don't know any brand names and I didn't want to go this far, but I've had enough. My infestation is too long running for just these traps, food source removal and cleaning. I hope you have better luck than I've had! These traps are a great first step, but don't stop here. Get rid of their food and clean, clean, clean!

Springstar S202 Flour and Pantry Moth Trap Review

Springstar S202 Flour and Pantry Moth Trap
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
Last year I subscribed to a program that supplied prepackaged food every month for weight loss. As I was using the products, I noticed much to my disgust and dismay, several items in the box were infested with the pantry moth larva. Even though I threw the box and food away immediatly, it was too late. We began to see that they had infested the kitchen and pantry. I threw away every single food item I had in the house, even cookbooks and paper products in a desperate attempt to get rid of them.
I still had the moths. Sometimes 3 or 4 a day in my kitchen. I consulted an exterminator who advised me to go through my cupboards again and to spray insecticide into alll of the cabinets joints and crevices. I followed his direction; we still had the moths.
Finally I researched the problem on-line and saw the pantry moth lure. It worked immediatly! As soon as my husband opened the lure,(it looks like a piece of bubble gum and has no discernable smell to humans), we saw 7 or 8 moths start flying around it. Within hours they were all stuck inside the trap flypaper.
I have had at least two of these traps in my house since then and have not seen any flying moths or larva.
This is a great item! It is small, totally odorless and discreet, cheap, non toxic, and IT WORKS!
